Question:
How do I create a file for digital printing?

Answer:
Files are ideally created and supplied in PDF format. This method only allows for the making of minor corrections and should be set up to output as single A4 pages; we will take care of any changes to the size. The best way to set up PostScript or PDF files is by using Adobe Acrobat Distiller. Click here to link to www.adobe.com

Clients may prefer to create files in any of the following programs: QuarkXpress, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Pagemaker. Microsoft Word can prove difficult causing re-flow due to kerning and font problems.

If electronic files are not available then the best approach is to create all the pages of your publication in a word processing programme and print them (on a high quality laser printer if possible) out exactly as you wish them to appear in their final form. The alternative to this is to supply a previously printed copy. These can be scanned in to produce your book, conference pack, training manual, directory, catalogue or report.
