Question:
What are the benefits of digital printing?
Answer:
Digital
printing is faster and less expensive than traditional printing for short run
work.
Digital printing presses run directly from an electronic file, there is no need to output film, no plates, no processing chemicals, no expensive make-ready time and less waste.
The speed at which we produce our work is a fraction of what was accepted as normal in lithographic printing. Short runs become economical allowing you to print the exact quantity you require helping your cash flow and reducing waste.
Digital printing allows you to target your customer directly by personalising your printed matter, brochures can be bespoke focussing on your customers needs. It also ensures you can update your work so it never goes out of date.
Another advantage is we can start to supply as soon as the first copy is off of the press, there is no need to worry about drying time or set off. Printing digitally means not having to wait for the complete quantity to be run before the next process begins allowing us to finish a small quantity for an urgent advance delivery.
Publishers use it to keep titles in print and therefore in copyright releasing the value in their previously un-used backlist.
